- You should dose a group of sheep according to the largest size.
- The gun should be calibrated before every session.
- All ewes should be turned straight out to fresh grass after dosing.
- Fecal egg counting should be used to check if you have a worm burden.
- Wormers left in the vehicle can be exposed to high temperatures in summer.
- Rotate the wormers families every year to avoid resistance.
- Drenching guns should also be well maintained and replaced regularly.
- The length of the barrell of the dosing gun doesn't matter. The same gun can be used for cattle and sheep.
- Dose all ewes the first of every month from April to September.
- You should dose a group of sheep according to the heaviest animal.
- Only dose if you have a worm burden.
